The Eaton Airflex CS drum-style brakes are both spring-applied and air-released and develop less torque in the reverse direction of drum rotation. These brakes automatically engage in the event of an air or electrical power loss, giving system operators better peace of mind on the job. This is to ensure that conveyors, power shovels, hoists, draglines and stamping presses come to a stop as quickly as possible.
