The Johnson pneumatic disc brake is currently available in 10 models. Foot or side-mounted, this robust brake unit made of steel and ductile iron features non-asbestos linings to suit application requirements, aluminum shoes, solid or ventilated discs made of carbon or stainless steel and a choice of cast iron or non-ferrous, actuation that is either spring or hydraulic set/release, single or double actuator offset to either side of the disc, and a mechanism that is either free-floating when set and self-centering when released. This air operated disc brake is used for applications such as hoists, winches, conveyers, drives and processing machines.
