The Eaton Airflex CTE drum-style brakes are both spring-applied and air-released and were designed for moderate-speed, high-torque, cyclic applications that require extra stopping power. They deliver greater torque than Eaton Airflex Type CS brakes and are bi-directional, so they develop approximately the same torque in either direction of drum rotation.
