The MEWK brakes are electro-hydraulic thrustor operated drum brakes featuring a torque spring protected from the environment in an enclosed steel tube. The MEWK brakes can also be fitted with a manual release lever.
These drum brakes operate with special versions of the Witton Kramer HD thrustor, which is interchangeable with the Witton Kramer KT Industrial, TKF Flameproof, and other European thrustors without having to modify the brake.
A.C. operated from supplies up to 660 Volts, 50 / 60 Hz, the MEWK brakes are designed for demanding applications such as on heavy duty cranes, conveyors and process lines. They also comply with the British and German standard in respect of drum diameter and width, fixing centres, shoe clearance, and centre height, and fixing bolt holes.
